These docs call the six units of work Initiative, Program, Project, Task, Cycle, and Team. Your workspace runs a terminology preset that relabels them. A Cycle called a Season behaves exactly like a Cycle.

The three presets

The default, and the language these docs are written in.
All three presets use the same word for Project and Task.

Per-word overrides

Override any single word on top of the preset. Rename Program to Service and leave the rest alone, and the words on your screen match no preset exactly. Set the preset and any overrides in Settings → General → Terminology. In a shared workspace that is an admin setting.

The API uses the defaults

The API, the MCP tools, and the REST reference always use the default words. project, cycle, and initiative are the field names whatever your workspace displays. So these docs and the API agree. Use the tables above when you read these docs beside the app. Changing a preset moves, renames, and re-parents nothing. Every rule in Core concepts still applies: a Cycle called a Sprint is still team-scoped and still a fixed window of time.
Set terminology per workspace. Your personal space has its own setting under the same Settings → General, and starts on the default words.
