# Connect your calendar and mail

> Connect Google Calendar and Gmail, then choose what Docket should read and sync.

Calendar and mail connections belong to your account. A workspace can use the resulting context
only through your access and the workflows you enable.

## Connect the Google account

Open **Settings → Connections** and select Google. Approve the Google access that the feature needs.
Docket requests access in steps, so connecting Calendar does not require you to enable Gmail or
Drive.

Use **Settings → Connected accounts** to review or remove the identity link itself.

## Choose Google calendars

Open **Settings → Calendar** after you connect the account. Choose which calendars appear in Docket
and which one Docket uses for supported write-back.

Calendar keeps an event's source timezone. Use the **Calendars** control on the Calendar page to
show or hide layers and remove duplicate display when the same event arrives through two accounts.

See [Calendar and scheduling](/docs/guides/daily/calendar-and-scheduling) for timeboxing and editing.

## Turn mail into suggestions

Enable email-to-task under **Settings → Connections** when Athena should inspect new Gmail threads
for work. Docket creates a suggestion with the source message attached. Review, edit, accept, or
dismiss it before it becomes a Task.

Tune the email workflow rules under **Settings → Automations**. See
[Athena and your mail](/docs/guides/athena/athena-and-your-mail) for the suggestion lifecycle.

## Reconnect an expired account

Docket marks the connection when Google revokes or expires access. Open **Settings → Connections**
and authorize it again. Existing Docket Tasks, calendar items, and history remain in Docket while
the connection is offline.

## Disconnect the account

Disconnect the provider under **Settings → Connections** when you want to stop sync. Remove the
identity link under **Settings → Connected accounts** when you no longer want the account attached
to your Docket account.
