# API release notes

> Published changes to Docket’s public REST compatibility contract.

## `0.1.0` — 2026-09-12

Status: prerelease.

Docket established its initial explicit public REST compatibility contract. Before this release,
the public `/v1` surface had no explicit contract assertion. After this release, clients may omit
`Docket-Version` or assert `Docket-Version: 0.1.0`, and every public REST response identifies the
contract plus its deployed source revision.

This release does not claim that every documented capability first appeared on 2026-09-12. It
establishes the version and response identity contract for the public REST surface.

Client action: accept the current contract by omitting the header, or assert `0.1.0` and handle
`unsupported_api_version` before parsing a response. Docket retains no earlier public contract.
